Chapter 1: The narrator, Andri Saletan, a Terran-born Gataser, recounts his experiences vacationing on Terra and the Terrans' perception of Gatasians. He discusses his identity as a Gataser and his loyalty to Gatas, despite his Terran ancestry. He says that should it ever come to a battle between Earth and Gatas, he would fight on behalf of Gatas.

 

Chapter 2: Andri then introduces himself and his family, providing background on his upbringing and the history of Gatas Terrans. He reflects on his childhood and the cultural differences between humans and Julziish.

 

Chapter 3: Andri describes his daily routine and his work as a xenosociologist and Kyatapira breeder. He encounters his friend Me'Shy, who expresses concerns over the Black Creature of Doom and the convoy transporting fragments of the superintelligence ES through the Glory of Gatas. It turns out that there was recently an attack on a Gatasian ship by what appears to be a Terran ship.

 

Chapter 4: Andri and Symou are invited to the funeral ceremonies for those killed in the attack on the PAGVASYS. Symou is also requested to be present at the investigation of the bodies of the "Future Gatasians."

 

Chapter 5: Andri and Symou attend the funeral ceremony, where they encounter the League's ambassador, Enoch Gessen. The ceremony is disrupted by an attack from space, causing chaos and fear.

 

Chapter 6: The attack is attributed to the Light Battalion, led by a Terran named Honor Bassacove. Suspicions and tensions rise between Gatasians and Terrans.

 

Chapter 7: Andri and Symou keep their children home from school due to safety concerns after the attack on the planet. The Prime Regulator orders the Gatasian ships to retreat and requests Atlan to halt the convoy for now. There is now a sense of unease and uncertainty about the future.

 

Chapter 8: Andri goes to the transmitter station and meets an Oszyrii who treats him poorly. He then goes to the depot and shops for cleaning products and a toolkit. He buys Plophosian coffee from Fetul, the depot manager. He flies to the mountain pasture and checks on the Kyatapira. He cleans the guest rooms and brews coffee. He turns on the news and learns that Patryss Zo has imposed secure-hermetic protection on the Verth system and assumed supreme command. Andri then hears about an explosion at the Fourth Caution's high-security laboratory and worries about Symou, who works there. He calls Me'Shy and asks him to pick up Marion and Yusha. He packs emergency medical equipment and flies to Byaznii.

 

Chapter 9: Andri arrives in Byaznii and finds the transmitter station there under heavy guard. He uses a deflector to become invisible and bypasses security. He then rents a glider and flies towards the Fourth Caution, where he finds the area cordoned off due to the explosion. He approaches the exclusion zone and sees the devastation. He finds Symou trapped under a steel beam, tending to Prime Regulator Lyirid Ghura, who was injured in the explosion. They free themselves using Andri's tools and discuss how to escape.

 

Chapter 10: Andri, Symou, and Ghura escape the laboratory and fly to the mountain pasture. They discuss the political situation and the news that Zo has become the new Prime Regulator. Ghura is placed in the Medo chamber to recover. Leede Khaamt, Symou's girlfriend, arrives and asks to stay with them. Andri overhears a conversation between Symou and Leede, where Leede reveals that she works for the Akonian Energy Command and offers to help them escape Gatas. Andri watches the news and learns about the conflict between Gatas and the ES convoy.

 

Chapter 11: Lyirid Ghura wakes up and joins the others. They discuss the political situation and the attack on the laboratory. Andri expresses his loyalty to Gatas, despite the challenges they face. Leede leaves, and Andri and Me'Shy go outside to put the gliders away. Andri  sees a Kyketsu inspiration display flyer that reads, "He who betrays the traitor does right!" and wonders if it is directed at him.

 

Chapter 12: Andri and Symou discover that their children, Marion and Yusha, are missing along with Me'Shy. Me'Shy is found paralyzed in the stable, and they realize the children have been kidnapped. They are contacted by Leede, who admits to taking the children and demands Lyirid Gh�ura in exchange for their safe return. Andri, Symou, Me'Shy, and Ghura decide to fly to Byaznii to confront Leede and rescue the children.

 

Chapter 13: Andri, Me'Shy, and Gh�ura arrive at the Terrarium in Ryoanshi and wait for Symou. They plan to use a deflector to remain invisible and follow Symou to the exchange location. Symou arrives and enters the building with Ghura. The narrator and Me'Shy follow them using the deflector. Leede confronts them and demands Ghura. Andri attacks Leede with a thermal blaster, but her protective shield blocks the attack. Leede threatens the children with her weapon, and Me'Shy throws Addmak balls to distract her. Leede is hit by an Addmak and fatally wounded. In a final act, she shoots at the children with her thermal blaster, but Me'Shy jumps in front of them and takes the hit, sacrificing himself to save them.

 

Chapter 14: Andri mourns the loss of Me'Shy. Lyirid Ghura resumes his role as Prime Regulator and allows the ES convoy to pass through Gatas. Andri and Symou discuss the events and the future. Andri receives an invitation to Me'Shy's funeral. It is reported that Patryss Zo and others that had participated in running the government and instigated the fears have vanished. It is possible that they had been influenced by Kmossen.

Andri and Symou decide to go to the evening market with their children. The news reports that the spaceship LUMINOSITY is addressing the galaxy. Perry Rhodan appears, who discusses the ES fragments and the future of the Milky Way. He also discusses the concerns over the possible resurrection of ES. He assures the audience that they are not searching for the fragments for their own interests but do so on a mission from the Lemurian Alliance. He also states that the Galacticum has created a position of Galactic Inspector to monitor the Yodore Sphere. The first holder of this position is the Gatasian Yassa Eyxolon.
