The AURA has now settled into a quiet position on the outskirts of Gruelfin after its adventure on the planet Kenkscheil and Chief Medic Vencvender is examining one of the recovered ice sculptures in a laboratory. Madison Starblanket, the Commander finds the character unusual but can't say why. Vencvender has discovered an inclusion within the ice, and suspects the frozen life-form is pregnant. Technician Alissin-Lar, Security Chief Loicold Harrisot, Ephin, the Laosoor, and Antanas Lato should support the Ara in his work. Meanwhile, Starblanket is working on a new camouflage for the AURA, because they will be looking for the VEEPAND XXXIII.

In the control room, the first pilot Adrian Lautrec and the commander recap the situation, while the remaining 18 crew members are listening. They are convinced that the MAGELLAN has now been freed by Perry Rhodan and Atlan. This is also supported by the fact that the Panjase publicly announce that the Ultratender was destroyed during the flight through the Black Star Boundary. But this is presumably a deception on the part of Rhodan. In order to follow the mother ship, the AURA would need a Perductor pilot, several Relative Position Responders, and Panjasic Hypertronics- hijacking all this seems impracticable and so they develop a plan. Since there are still some barrels of Murupor elixir on board, this should be offered to the Panjases in disguise. They will appear as Faroshores, who are considered the healers of Gruelfin and like to work with this substance to cure illnesses. They hope to cross the system screen of Morschaztas on board a Panjasen spacer.

Meanwhile, the ice sculpture erupts from the lab after Ephin tests his para-gift of aberration initiation on the ice sculpture. They can briefly speak to Tommpur, the Kopplor, via translator, but he doesn't believe he's dealing with Terrans. Believing it is Ganjases that broke the unity of Vaarnvellt, he easily traverses the HU screen that has spatially isolated him. He goes to Headquarters. He cannot be captured there and continues to flee. A little later, an ominous thread stretches across a corridor that the Kopplor must have generated. Security guard Nele Oksman fails to break the thread, but her psyche snaps, forcing Loicold Harrisot to knock her unconscious.

In several other areas of the ship, such hyperphysically charged threads are discovered, which negatively affect both technology and the psyche of intelligent beings. A TARA almost manages to disintegrate a thread with low-dose disintegrator fire, but then freaks out and wants to kill a technician. However, using a codeword recently installed on all robots, it can be disabled before it does any damage. Vencvender discovers that the Murupor can cure mental disorders reasonably quickly. Starblanket wants to capture the Kopplor as soon as possible.

Security Chief Harrisot lures Tommpur into the Astrophysics department and is able to paralyze him. Tommpur was desperately searching for the coordinates of his homeworld. They take the ice creature to the medical station again and implant a PSI Inhibitor in him that will instantly stun him if he tries to teleport. After talking to the Kopplor, it becomes clear that Tommpur is not pregnant, but carries a memobiont implanted in his youth. This records all of his memory content and saves it chronologically and photographically. The symbiote is of the Raegtruud race but was somehow partially memory wiped, resulting in memory gaps. Starblanket manages to get the Kopplor to cooperate by promising to find out something about the Kopplor's original war against the Ganjase.

They find the Panjase ship PRAIPASCH in the halo of Gruelfin. Its Hypertronics could be used to access the Panjases’ Hyparchive network to obtain information about the MAGELLAN, but that would require hijacking the ship. Tommpur's powers are nearly exhausted – he needs Hypercrystal dust, of which there is little on the AURA, to be able to create and charge his webs.

The PRAIPASCH is lured with a deception maneuver. There are allegedly injured Ganjases on board the RA. They also arouse covetousness by claiming to have Murupor on board. After a brief consultation, the Panjases deposit their scientific exhibits in containers on the ship's side, thus creating space for the AURA to enter the hangar.

Ephin the Laosoor now uses short-range teleportation to transport some powerful AURA crew members to a peripheral storage area of the hangar, from where the Bardhomer Loicold Harrisot knocks out two Panjase Guardsmen. But the battle for the PRAIPASCH has only just begun. It remains to be seen what the Kopplor Tommpur will achieve... because he is already realizing that the threads will soon no longer be hyper-reactive. Then the security chief storms into the headquarters and destroys all the radio consoles one after the other so that the Panjases cannot call for help after crossing the Black Star Boundary. Tommpur meanwhile penetrated into the observatory of the PRAIPASCH and uses one of his threads to mentally control an astronomer but there the Hypertronics are cut off from the Hyparchive, and the stellar location of the Kopplor homeworld cannot be determined. When leaving the room, another Panjase promptly appears and now the first thread fails. Tommpur is in dire need of Hypercrystal dust now! He knocks the man down and goes in search of it.

Antanas Lato now observes from the RA that Panjasian soldiers are banding together to storm the AURA. It is now becoming apparent that 20 people from AURA have a difficult time against 300 from PRAIPASCH. Lato therefore accepts the on-board computer's suggestion to extend the RA's golden screen to the Galactic ship. It remains to be seen whether this will go well. Since the Panjase are familiar with 6-D technology, even this high-quality screen may not be safe enough from a breakthrough.

Tommpur manages to get the location of Panjase technician Varaschi by questioning a Panjase who is still trapped in one of his hyper-reactive threads. Varaschi manages the hypercrystal supplies on board. He orders Ephin to call reinforcements. Then they interrogate this Varaschi after the Kopplor has eaten a hypercrystal she gave him and they learn something about the Sextadim servants who are used wherever Dakkar technology is needed. Their elite are the Dim-dancers, who can create and stabilize Sextagonium from normal hypercrystals. But that only works in relative proximity to the mental conglomerate, i.e. the ES-Fragment in Morschaztas. Compared to the normal population of the Great Ganjat, however, these are only presented as particularly highly gifted pedotransferers in order not to reveal the deepest secret of the technological leadership of the Panjasian elite and thus endanger it. Ephin now calls on the Kopplor to actively intervene again in the battles to conquer the PRAIPASCH so that it does not fail.

It is now possible to spin almost all of the opposing soldiers into the threads and thus they also find Zutroschon, the Captain of the PRAIPASCH. This accesses the Hyparchive, but there is nothing there either about the Kopplor homeworld... and nothing about the MAGELLAN either - only in the Hermetic Archives on Aschvalum can one possibly find out both. So Ephin and Tommpur have a new target. They finally break through the Black Star Boundary and reach the minor galaxy, the Morschaztas globular star cluster, and immediately the AURA sends out an ultra-short, coded hyper-radio pulse, which is also answered very quickly by the MAGELLAN: Mirabelle Eden announces that Perry Rhodan has left for Aschvalum. She sends the OXTORNE battle cruiser TRINIDAD to break the last resistance on board the PRAIPASCH with a space landing battalion. After that, they will sabotage the engines and hyper-radio so severely that it will take days to reactivate them. Enough time for the AURA to fly to Ashvalum, the planet where the first ES fragment resides.

Alschoran has his thoughts on board the TRINIDAD and reveals these when he goes on board the PRAIPASCH: the Panjase spacecraft will instead fly to the taboo planet Aschvalum. The crew will be put to sleep except for a few specialists and then penetrate the Hermetic Archives. However, once they get there, it becomes clear that it won't be that easy, as a massive Panjase fleet guards the planet. Will Tommpur be able to do anything with his threads?
