1500 - Ruf der Unsterblichkeit
The call of immortality
Ernst Vlcek

By 1149, 750 million Terrans are freed from the Simusense Network with Nathan's help. The last Cantaros leave, the Anorees Degruum, Gavral and Shyrbaat joining them on their trip to NGC 73316. The Amagorta black hole is sealed forever.

In 1163, Ellert heads to the Paura black hole in the Magellanic Clouds with the Nakk Paunaro, thinking that he and Testare didn't get to see the real Time Tablets of Amringhar. Paunaro confirms that these tables are indeed duplicates because they don't mention anything about the Third Ultimate Question or where It came from. Even though their stay in the black hole lasted only a few hours, eighteen months have gone by in the normal universe when they return.

In 1166, Rhodan visits the newly terraformed Halutian homeworld while the Posbis and the Central Protoplasm have returned to the World of a Hundred Suns.

In the East Side of the galaxy, a conflict between two races of the Blues erupts. Tekener and Danton are sent to investigate but they can't resolve the conflict.

During a session of the Galacticum, the Blue Tuery Yezag announces that the conflict has been resolved thanks to the Pacifier Aramus Shaenor, a member of the up till now unknown Linguide race. The Linguide people have only been a space faring civilization for a hundred years and they have colonized fourteen solar systems. As a reward for solving their conflict, the Blues give to the Linguide the solar system Jergelen. On September 24h, Fellmer Lloyd and Ras Tschubai depart for the Jergelen system in order to find out more about the mysterious Linguides.

Eirene, who has been traveling throughout the galaxy with Willom for the past seven years, comes back to Earth to celebrate her forty-fifth birthday, where several of his friends are waiting, among whom Ernst Ellert, Alaska Saedelaere and Testare. Eirene feels closer to the Nakks than humans and she asks to be called by the name that the Cosmocrate Carfesch gave her: Idyniphe. Gesil tells Eirene that she is still trying to find the identity of the person who used her to father Monos.

On September 30th, Homunk, the messenger from It, lands on Terrania to give Rhodan and his friends the "Call of Immortality": all the activator carriers need to return their cell activator to It by October 15th, thereby condemning them to a certain death. All that Homunk discloses is that It decided that the human race ran out of time, even though they are still far from the 20,000 years that It initially promised them.

1501 - Weg ohne Wiederkehr
Trip without return
H.G. Francis

The activator carriers are not the only ones shocked by the demand from It: Sato Ambush tells Rhodan that the Nakks Willom and Shaarim have reacted with extreme excitement at the news that the super intelligence had manifested itself.

On the Earth, the immortals take the news in various ways: Homer G. Adams decides to spend a week in isolation in the middle of the Canadian snowy wilderness, Tekener still can't get over Jennifer's death and Bull decides to sail across the Atlantic.

On the October 13th, Rhodan, Bull, danton, Tifflow, Adams, Saedelaere, Tekener, Tolot and Pucky depart for Wanderer on board the Eidolon.

On their way to the Jergelen system, Tschubai and Lloyd make a stop on September 29th on Cassanagk, a planet that Tschubai visited a thousand years ago. The teleporter would like to see how the civilization evolved there. During their stay, they touch a structure and then both feel something coming out of their cell activator, but they don't understand what it is. They resume their flight to the Jergelen system and land on the planet Compol.

Compol is surrounded by dolphin shaped Linguide spaceships along with blue spaceships. The Linguide Senfro Datalba welcome the two mutants and shows them around. A few days later, the Anezvar arrives in the system but Eirene doesn't get the authorization land. She contacts the mutants on the planet and lets them know about the ultimatum from It, then she leaves.

Felmer Lloyd has been using the visit to mentally spy on Senfro Datalba and he can only find one subject on which the Linguide hasn't been quite truthful with them, which is connected to Lindofer, the future capital of the planet. The Linguides don't seem to want the Terrans in the area of that city, for some reason.

During the night, a fire erupts and the mutants determine that Datalba is trapped in the burning building. They teleport, save the Linguide emissary and teleport out. However, the teleportation goes wrong. The two mutants lose consciousness and wake up several days later in the middle of the forest. The date is October 15th, the dead line for the ultimatum, and the mutants realize that their cell activators are no longer working. They try to make their way back to the Elcador.

1502 - Die letzte Frist
The last period
Kurt Mahr

During the trip, Rhodan receives the visit of someone disguised as Bull who faults him for what's happening. He says that Rhodan should have accepted to hear the Third Ultimate Question and he should have worked with the Cosmocrats instead of turning away from them. Later, Rhodan finds out that Bull was never in his cabin, and the identity of the mysterious visitor remains unknown.

The Eidolon arrives at the location where Wanderer should have been if it hadn't been destroyed in 2326 but they can't find the artificial planet anywhere. Following a hunch, Atlan flies the Eidolon to a different point in space and the Terrans finally locate Wanderer. Atlan refuses to explain how he came up with this location for the time being.

The Eidolon lands and It manifests itself, telling Rhodan that the 20,000 year period has expired and since the Terrans have failed in their mission to bring peace to the local cluster, they must return their cell activators. The Terrans are stunned and Rhodan realizes that the stars above, which are simulated by the generators of Wanderer, are indeed displaying the sky as it should be after a delay of 17,220 years. Atlan confesses that this was his intuition and that they are currently in the location of Wanderer's orbit where the planet should be if the time that had gone by was 20,000 years.

The Terrans try to convince It that it is wrong, but the super intelligence ignores their complaints and orders Homunk to gather the cell activators, which the Galactics reluctantly turn in.

Two Nakk spaceships arrive on Wanderer: the Anezvar, with Willom and Eirene on board, and the Jeexel, with Shaarim and Clistor. Clistor is bringing a present to It, which turns out to be the cell activators that were stolen from Galbraith Deighton, Jen Salik, Geoffrey Abel Waringer, Irmina Kotschistowa, Jennifer Thyron and Gesil. Ronald Tekener reacts violently by killing Clistor, whom he blames for the death of his wife, Jennifer.

Irritated by the display of violence, It paralyzes everyone and sends them back on their way. The Galactics wake up a few hours later on their spaceship. Atlan blames Rhodan for what happened but this time, Rhodan immediately realizes that he's again dealing with the unidentified impostor. He paralyzes the fake Arkonide, who vanises in a puff of smoke.

As the Galactics are resigning themselves to only have about sixty hours left to live, It lets them know that before he released them, he gave them all a cellular shower, which gives them a sixty-two year reprieve.

The Eidolon sets out for the Earth.

Since 1149, the planet Topsid has been regressing to a primitive level split in three factions sharing twelve fortresses from the old Chronopulse Wall. The conflicts keep escalating until 1169, when they catch the attention of Dao-Lin-H'ay, who decides with Homer G. Adams agreement to go on a diplomatic mission to Topsid.

On Topsid, the Kartanian is targeted for assassination by an ambition Topsid commander who accepted to carry out his mission under pressure of the secret services, but he saves her at the last minute. He gets executed as a traitor.

1504 - Die Mutantensucher
The mutant seekers
Arndt Ellmer

The Odin, the Cimarron and the Harmony approach the Jergelen system. The Linguides deny the ships landing permission on Compol because they say they had bad experiences with Terrans. Rhodan manages to negotiate sending a small team on the planet in order to find Tschubai and Lloyd, who, according to the Linguides, were killed by creatures in the forest. The Linguides warn Rhodan that the usage of teleporters is forbidden.

Pucky teams up with a Linguide researcher called Gerino Vaider, who used to be a disciple of a famous Linguide Peacemaker called Dorina Vaccer. The Peacemakers are an elite caste of the Linguides with special convincing powers. Pucky learns that Senfro Datalba lost his "Kima" during his contact with Tschubai and Lloyd. Reading the Linguide's thoughts, Pucky understands that a Kima is a concept similar to souls for Linguides.

During their trip in the forest, Vaider gets chased and Pucky teleports with him at the last minute. He passes out instantly and as a result of the teleportation, Vaider also loses his Kima and most of his intelligence. Pucky wakes up from his coma four days later.

In the meantime, Rhodan and his team have continued their researches in the forest and they eventually find the deadly remanants of Ras Tschubai and Fellmer Lloyd. Crushed with sorrow, the Terrans pick up the inactive cell activators of their friends, leave Compol and set out for the Kalyjaz nebula, where they will meet the rest of the fleet.

1505 - Dorina, die Friedensstifterin
Dorina the Peacemaker
Marianne Sydow

In 1145, the Linguide farmer Segur Vaccer plants the Kima tree of his daughter, Dorina, on Taumond, the fifth planet of the Kaokrat system. Dorina shows early signs of an extraordinary linguistical skill, so she's sent to the stern Hajmayur school.

In 1154, Virram, one of the students of the school, tries to change the mind of the janitor of the school but his attempt fails and he wipes the janitor's mind instead. Garyo, the principal of the school, prevents him from ever being able to use his skill again.

In 1161, Dorina Vaccer visits Roost as part of her apprenticeship reporting to the Peacemaker Balin Weydar. At the end of Monos' reign, the Tentras, the Blues of Roost, suddenly realized that the Linguides had colonized a few of the planets in their sphere of influence. After several negotiations, the Linguides are able to convince the Blues to relinquish these planets.

Aramus Shaenor, another student of Balin Weydar, insists that the Linguides should try to solve the nascent conflict opposing the Blues and their clones, which were created by Monos. Dorina Vaccer disagrees and thinks that the Linguides should stay out of it. During her regular trips to her homeworld, Taumond, she sees her Kima grow into a very strong and tall tree. When she returns on Weydar's spaceship, she realizes that the Peacemaker, now forty years old, has lost his power.

In 1164, Shaenor is promoted to the title Peacemaker and he takes over the Varoar. The next year, Varina also receives the Peacemaker title and she's put in charge of her own spaceship, the Sinido.

1506 - Eine Welt der Linguiden
A Linguide world
Marianne Sydow

Dorina Vaccer reads the reports about what happened on Compol and reaches the conclusions that the Galactics cannot be held responsible for the loss of Senfro Datalba and Gerino Vaider's kimas. However, she orders to prevent them from landing on any Linguide planet until further notice. After discussing the situation with Aramus Shaenor and Balasar Imkord, the Linguides decide to meet the Galactics formally on Drostett, Imkord's home world.

When they meet, Dorina Vaccer explains to Rhodan that the Linguides are not interested in joining the Galacticum because this would compromise their way of life. She explains that when they started experimenting with hyperspace drives, several of their scientists lost their kimas, which is when they realized that they had to stay away from any technology related to hyper transmitters.

Imkord invites Rhodan to join him on a trip to the top of the mountain where his kima tree is located. Rhodan accepts and is deeply touched by the experience. He starts to realize that the Linguides are indeed a very peaceful people. After spending some time with Dorina Vaccer, Pucky gains the same conviction, while Reginald Bull is still skeptical about the Linguides' intents.

The three spaceships depart for Teffon, where Aramus Shaenor is located, when they receive a message from Atlan letting them know he might have made a compromising discovery about the Linguides.

Accompanied by Kassian, a young Arkonide that he took in when he was young, Atlan meets in December 1169 with an Omni-Blue clone who has information about the Linguides. The Blue tells them that on an island of Teffon, the Linguides are running a camp with deformed Linguides who are the results of cloning incidents.

After leaving a message for Perry Rhodan, Atlan and Kassian fly to the Sedeider system where they find the mutant Linguides on a secluded island. Omni Blue clones are guarding the crippled Linguides and treating them roughly. The Blues spot the Arkonides and start chasing them, but when Aramus Shaenor realizes what is going on, he calls the Blues back and ask Atlan to come talk to him.

Shaenor explains that despite the incident, the Blues that mistreat the clones must have been influenced by the Linguide mental influence. Atlan is skeptical and still harbors doubts regarding the recent expansion of the Linguides within the Blue empire.

Rhodan and his fleet arrive in the Sedeider system and meet with Shaenor. He offers the help of the Galacticum to treat the mutants, which Shaenor declines. He explains that the evets that caused these deformities came either from transmitter accidents or from birth defects.

On January 20th, the Galactics leave the Sedeider system.

To solve the nascent Efrem conflict, Rhodan calls the Linguides and asks them if they can dispatch ten peacemakers on the ten worlds forcefully occupied by the Topsides. A small delegation of Linguides led by Kelamar Tessom land on the Earth and tell Rhodan they will take the job in exchange for the recordings that were made on Wanderer, on the day that Tekener killed the Nakk Clijstor in 1169. Although Rhodan is concerned by the Linguide's sudden interest for It, he accepts and nine Linguides are sent on the occupied worlds. Tessom stays on Earth for a few more days so Rhodan can talk with him more.

The next day, an unknown giant spaceship is spotted in the Efrem system and at about the same time, all the Topsides leave Efrem. Questioning a few Topsides left behind, Rhodan finds out that they receive a hypnotic suggestion to leave the planet. Rhodan realizes that the unknown spaceship was actually Wanderer, and he's now convinced that It forced the Topsides to leave but he has no idea why It would do such a thing.

1522 - Metalyse
Metalyze
Arndt Ellmer

In 1166, shortly before turning eighteen, Myles Kantor suffers for the first time from a phenomenon called tavkorianism. His activities are four times slower and his body shows signs of infection. In particular, he expresses interest for the Fornax galaxy. The young man understands that his desire to travel through the cosmos is the expression of a wish from a corporeal creature. Enza Mansoor and Notkus Kantor seek advice with Nathan and they start working on a Metalyzer, a machine that can separate mind from body. With the help of the moon syntronics, they start studying Ernst Ellert's life.

On September 10th, 1170, the Metalyzer is used on the Moon. The freed consciences of Enza, Notkua and Myles Kantor enter inside Nathan to find the data that block the time when Ellert gave Nathan his warning. They succeed but Notkus' conscience remains forever lost within the computer.

The data show that It saw a great danger arriving upon his Sphere of Influence, which led him to create a new artificial world on a different orbit from Wanderer. Because It didn't want the Base to fall in the hands of the threat, the super intelligence ordered Anson Argyris to dismantle it.

The project

Perry Rhodan creates the project Ubi It in order to find the super intelligence. He wants to repurpose the Cantaro network into a surveillance lattice spread across the Milky Way in order to detect Wanderer as soon as it appears in the galaxy. Two of the thousands of spaceships in charge of reprogramming the individual satellites are the Tabatinga, led by Nikki Frickel and Loydel Shvartz and the Loreto. They depart on September 23rd 1170 for Quorda, the third planet of the Kymran system.

They make contact on the planet with a colony of Terran scientists who are studying the radiations of the white dwarf Kymran. As they are setting up their encampment, they are attacked by crocobufs, animals that are usually peaceful. Investigating the incident, they discover a cave with syntronic devices that has recently been the object of an explosion. They find a fragment of metal and a piece of leather that come from another galaxy.

As they complete their work on Quorda, a mysterious light appears and blows up next to the two Terran spaceships without damaging them. The next day, a dolphin spaceship of the Linguide Tara-Su appears in the system. Tara-Su says that his spaceship suffered some outage and they lost their bearings. They leave the system after a brief chat with Nikki.

On October 26th, the Loreto is attacked and destroyed by eighteen unknown spaceships. Perry Rhodan dispatches a fleet of twenty-three spaceships to investigate the attack. The Tabatinga returns to Quorda where the scientists tell them they found micro controllers in the brains of the dead crocobufs. Nikki heads back to Earth in order to investigate the piece of metal they found in the cave.

On November 3rd, 1170, Rhodan asks for the Nakks' assistance in finding It. Sato Ambush and Eirene talk to the Nakks on behalf of Rhodan while on the Earth, Kelamar Tesson announces that the mission of the nine Linguide pacifiers on the nine planets is coming to an end. Rhodan tells the Linguide that they will only receive nine tenths of the information they asked about Wanderer.

Rhodan meets flies the Odin to the Techma sector where he meets the Nakk Willom. Willom invites Rhodan on board and tells the Terran that he's going to show him information about Wanderer. As Rhodan is about to board the Nakk's spaceship, he finds himself teleported on Wanderer.

On Wanderer, Rhodan lives through several eras, the latest one being 6050 before the common era. He realizes that It itself seems to believe that 6050 BC is the current time. Rhodan makes his way to the main city of Wanderer and when he finally meets It, the super intelligence doesn't recognize him. Rhodan sees a cell activator and tells It that it belongs to him, but the super intelligence discards Rhodan's remark, saying that the bearer of this activator hasn't been born yet.

Rhodan is then teleported back to the Odin on November 20th.

1525 - Methanwelt Antau I
Methane world Antau 1
H.G. Francis

The Alpha Carinae and the Pi Lupi, two spaceships stationed on Fogha, one of the control stations of the Cantaro network, spot the materialization of eighteen space ships and immediately send a signal to the Earth. Nikki Frickel and her cres arrive shortly thereafter, hoping to track down the strangers who destroyed the Loreto. Unfortunately, it's too late and the two spaceships have been destroyed. Frickel finds out that the strangers are headed for the Provcon Faust cloud.

Nikki Frickel is soon joined by Reginald Bull and Julian Tifflow in the Invek system. One of the eighteen spaceships appears to have been damaged during their attack of the Alpha Carinae and made a crash landing on Antau, a gas planet.

Nikki Frickel locates the space ship, which turns out to be a Truillau vessel, but they are captured by its captin, Sin-I-Sor, who explains that they are serving the Powerful Zerpat. The eighteen space ships were sent in the Milk Way in order to report about the events. The Truillau space ship is then attacked by a mysterious energy creature that was once stranded on this planet as a punishment. The Truillau space ship is destroyed and Nikki Frickel and her crew come back to their space ship with Sin-I-Sor. Unfortunately, the Truillau captain commits suicide shortly thereafter.

Meanwhile, Rhodan has arrived with a fleet of fifty-five spaceships and makes way for Provcon-Faust, after learning that the Nakks are predicting that Wanderer might soon materialize there.
